A blog of reflections and responses related to my research

As my research, teaching, giving talks, and other activities have unfolded over the past few years, I have increasingly found myself in the public eye, for better or worse. That is both exciting and terrifying. I'm adding this blog to my site as a way of commenting on things that come up, including critiques and more. I've been pushed to put things out on social media and other places, which don't allow space for the clarifications, warnings, limitations, and conditions that I include in my research, or at least in my thinking on various topics. I'll try to add as I come across things, but time continually escapes me, in this crazy academic world that I have found myself in.

These are simply some thoughts and reflections, so take it all with a grain of salt. I try to do my best in my work, but I know I fail in many ways. I don't begin to think I have the right answers, and all is biased by my own world views, beliefs, experiences, and perspectives.

You are welcome to comment, but I ask you - beg you - to be respectful. Let this be a place for dialogue, but not destruction.  Remember that I am a human being.
